Vallein Tercinier Hors d'Age

Starts off with some fruit such as pear and apple. I get lots of spice, pepper and a complex finish with some wood at the end. It's not sweet which I like. There are many flavors which I can't distinguish. This one offers a lot of flavor for the price.

This cognac requires patience. Pour it and leave on the table for an hour or even more. Give it enough time to open all its aromas to you. Enjoy its fruit sweetness, rancio and excellent taste.

A really great entry point for a Whisky drinker to start into Cognac. So wonderful and drinkable with tons of fruits. The nose isn’t the most expressive, but nice fruity and floral. The colour is a deep amber with golden reflexes. On the nose (over) ripe apricots, stewed fruits, oranges, vanilla, freshness of mint, herbal tea, decent rancio - a rather complex and fine nose. The palate is a mix of ripe orchard fruits, exotic fruits (mangos), fine raisins, honey and refreshing...

I like the overall taste.

Great Hors d’Age for the value of money

Nose: Emphatic and powerful, on stewed stone fruit, some apricot, tangerine, maybe mango ; Then eucalyptus and spices, cinnamon, vanilla, complex. Palate: Definitely more on spices first, peppery, cinnamon and nutmeg, woody as well ; Then it becomes syrupy, with honey, raisins, melon, orange blossom...

Big, bold opening with rich, sweet and rancio all playing their part. Slightly disappears on the finish, but really enjoyable.

Absolutely loved the wooden box but I must say that is as far as it goes for me. I was not impressed with any of the presentation neither nose or palate and the finish was too rough for me. Larry
